My observation is that SET is primarily hung up today on some obscurities
of Japanese banking, not anything fundamental, and expect a production release
at the end of the month.
True it can be very complex if the full gamut of exchanges is invoked however
do not expect that to occur except for large transactions, from what I have
seen, small ones will be handled entirely by the merchant based on a purchaser
certificate and clearing will be done in batches later.
I will say that the first time a SET model was seen, it reminded me most
of a model for Single Sign On for an enterprise.
Warmly,
Padgett
