The reason I was given is that the week between Christmas (December 25)
and New Year's (January 1), is the only week in the year when there are
no schools in session.
Since we are run by the undergraduate active brothers, it is necessary
for the convention to be at a time when any who wish to do so can attend
without missing classes.
