I would tend to agree with "That One Guy" in that the organization will
continue to change. In fact, things haven't really been the same since '76,
in that this is no longer a fraternity, de facto. FRATERNITY implies, at
least by most definitions I've seen, a group of brother, i.e. male types.
(so have I offended anyone yet?) Think about it. Quite a few don't even
refer to the orgnization as Alpha Phi Omega anymore, now it's APO (which
spells Alpha Pi Omicron?) So in essence, things aren't quite what we think
they are, now are they? And if we think about it some more, then only the
all male chapters represent a FRATERNITY, that of Alpha Phi Omega.
So maybe if, the organization would just go all the way, and change its
name to APO Service Organization (or whatever other venacular you can come
up with) then the Toast Song would be a moot point.
Thanks for listening.

If people can't respect the fact that someone would like to be referred to
by their appropriate gender, I question their sensitivity and compassion. I
call everyone a brother, enless someone asks otherwise - and if they do, I
do my best to respect that. I do service, but I am not a woman. I would not
like being called a woman, BECAUSE I AM NOT A WOMAN.
When the APO was first started, what is now the National President was know
as the "Supreme Grand Master." It was changed. We're still here. We're
stronger than ever, and will be stronger a decade from now. BUT WE CANNOT
SEPARATE GROWTH AND CHANGE.
It comes down to this: are we going to make changes that will lead APO in
new, healthy directions, or are we going to hold on to an outdated remnant
or our past? We not only have the choice, we have the obligation to make
this fraternity better in any way we can, any time we can. We seem to be
stuck in the past - perhaps we can focus on our future for a change. In

that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own."
