Greetings All,
I personally feel there is no reason why we shouldn't teach the
scout oath and law. They are the priciples on which this fraternity is
founded on. I distinctly remember hearing that Frank Reed Horton found
in the scout oath and law what he had beeen seeking in regards to his two
fold goals (later two fold purpose of A-Phi-O). I feel that not teaching
the scout oath and law is ignoring the reason for our very existence.
I guess however, that ultimately the decision should be up to the
individual chapter as to whether or not they should be taught (would you
expect anything else from a Delta brother). I suppose that I could see
the point of the apo clubs out there. If they aren't interested in
brotherhood or history then there's no point in teaching the scout oath
and law. Just my thoughts.
In Brotherhood,
Delta 1097
