Greetings from Region IX!

Vivs asked about the status of petitioning efforts to recharter Beta Theta
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Efforts from a few years ago ran
aground, but recently I have received word of new interest and recent
alumni willing and able to assist in the cause. If anyone has a friend
or relative attending school there who may be interested in APO, please
send me their name(s) and an address (postal or e-mail) where they can
be reached.

Section 27 is also now chaired by Dennis Callinan, former Region IX Director
and former Section 23 Chair. And the section, which has always been a part
of Region IX, was made whole again in 1992 when the southeastern portion
of Wisconsin was returned by Region VI, none the worse for the wear.

By the way, ANY extension leads for Section 27 - or the rest of Region IX,
for that matter - are always welcome. Send 'em on in!

Oh - and REV asked about the "original" gang of APO-L subscribers. I've
been here since before there was a listserv running for us, and Lisa Covi
simply collected and remailed notes to a list of addresses she gathered.
APO-L has grown a lot since then, but some of us still remember the
beginnings when 5-10 messages a week was considered heavy traffic.
