Well, obviously we don't agree and I, as well, am disappointed.
I, for one, would never allow such behavior from any subscriber or net
user. I believe that if you allow such an extreme offense without making
an example of it then you are tantamount to saying that similar or lesser
posts also will not have any reprisals. I feel the _only_ way to make
sure such abuse does not grow is to make strong examples. Otherwise,
there is no real control.

And I feel that this was not a knee-jerk reaction. I *even*
waited a couple of days and I did not see Ed's subsequent post as an
apology but more of an excuse. And I don't think there is any.

I, too, am disappointed. But more that you don't think that this
extreme transgression of netiquette and common decency warrants any
action. Fine. You are list administrator, that is your right. Just
don't see me ever posting again or ever subscribing personally.

Thus, good-bye APO-Land. It _had_ been an enjoyable experience.

Shawn -

Ed already apologized to the list yesterday for his language yesterday
and as far as I'm concerned that is sufficient unless he repeats his
offense. I am not going to toss people off the list for a single
offense. This list is about brotherhood and learning, not knee-jerk
retaliation.

I'm disappointed that you saw fit to drag system adminstrator at
grove.iup.edu into this, especially without having the common courtsey to
copy your complaint to Ed himself. If you're offended ask the person who
committed the offense to rectify the situation, don't ask other people to
take action on your behalf.
