I may very well propose a 5-term or 10-year limit on the holding of any
particular fraternity office. I feel that the length of the limit is long
enough for a really good leader to provide some long lasting direction and
guidance, yet allow others to hold office and gain experience. No one needs to
make a career out of any one office- there are plenty differnet offices and
ways to serve APO to provide variety through anyone's lifetime. Fresh faces
and voices into national apo leadership on a steady basis should be encouraged.
I feel that excessive terms by person or persons could stifle advancement
opportunities by new potential leaders and inmplementation of new ideas and/or
direction, when necessary.
I would also include a provision to allow certain extensions on limits for
certain ememrgency and/or special situations.
What do you think? More on this later.
