There are a bunch of differences between Brothers and pledges...

* Pledges are not allowed to wear letters or the crest (at least at AGX)

* Pledges do not know the meaning and symbolism behind the letters and crest
(the reason for not wearing them)

* Pledges are called Pledges, not Brothers, and while they may not be
treated very differently, it is a big difference. I remember being at
nationals in Boston in 92, and very accutely feeling the big difference
between petitioners and Brothers. I'm sure its the same for pledges.

* Pledges are not allowed to take part in ritual discussions or know them

Just my thoughts...
