With reguards to the Oath of Brotherhood, if one were to wait until
the Pledges are voted upon, and then share the Oath with them
a lot of the problems disappear. I know it's technically part
of the Pledge Process (But hey, who's ever heard "You never stop
pledging... it's an ongoing process.")
People being initiated are asked if they willa gree to take the
Oath, however lets be realistic. If I find, in the midst of the
ritual, that I take acception to the Oath, am I REALLY going to say
no, and walk out? I think this is part of the point of sharing the
Oath with someone before they hit the ritual. If you restrict it
to Neophytes, you are probably not going to have anyone walk, as there's
really not likely to be anything in it that will present a problem.
However, putting someone on the spot, and asking them to take an
oath that is morally binding for the rest of their life, with
no real out, is just not cool.
