In reference to the security director signs. While the whole episode
does need to be reviewed, I would not consider it hazing. I define
hazing as a word, action or deed that makes the pledge feel uneasy or
hesitant in doing something. As for the process of "making" money from
the pledges, something should be done to 'censure' the brother, but NOT
remove him/her from the positiion. One way to do that is to point out that
if any action was shown on the 5:00 O'Clock news, would it support the
ideals of APO or would it bring those ideals under question.
In support of the brother, s/he MAY have wanted to do the pledge class
under any circumstance and he was trying to make both worlds meet. I do
not agree with his/her solution, but I understand that people make
mistakes and errors of judgement and s/he should be given the opportunity
to learn from them.
