I've had a few requests for an explanation of what a Junior Initiate is.
So I decided I'd post the answer to the whole list, in case anyone else is
curious.
A "Junior Initiate" is what we call our pledges during the time between
Activation (Initiation Ceremony) and the end of the semester. My guesses
as to why this is done:
1. They're not pledges anymore, so you can't call them pledges.
2. They can't run for office (at least not in this chapter), but they CAN
vote, so this title distinguishes them from the rest of the chapter.
If anyone out there (Sean?) has any more info, wants to correct me, or
just wants to share what their chapter calls these brothers, I'm
interested in hearing.
YiLFS,
Tanya
