The server name and the channel are two completely different things. The
server is a machine that listens to other machines on IRC for other
people talking and sends your messages out. The channel is the specific
people at other sites or the same site you are talking to.
#aposoc is not on undernet, (but what it is on I forget the exact name of)
set your server to irc-2.mit.edu or irc.pitt.edu for starters and then
join #aposoc.
#aposoc only exists if there are people on it so if no one is on it your
joining will create it..
