Hunter College was formerly all-female,and turned coed sometime in the '60's.
Even now,it is about 75%-80% female. So we have to use that base. I think that
women tend to be more service-oriented anyway; a lot of service
professions(i.e. nurses;flight attendants;cashiers) are predominantly female.
So maybe females tend to gravitate toward
a co-ed service fraternity more than males would. Also,it has been my
experience that females will tend to recruit females more than males,thus the
skewed demographics.
