Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian
housing ministry is seeking people with knowledge of MAC/PC computers to
volunteer in our Information Systems Department at our international
headquarters in Americus, Georgia. If you are looking for a nurturing,
caring, Christian community (although you need not be Christian. We are
EOE) where you can use your skills and accomplishments to help us help
others, then HFHI may be the place for you.

Our mission is simple: HFHI is determined that everyone worldwide have a
decent place in which to live. We are dedicated to eliminating poverty
housing from the earth. You can help make this vision a reality by
putting your skills to work at our international headquarters.

Volunteer positions available in our Information Systems Department
include Network Specialist, Programmer, Systems Analyst and Technical
Support Technician. The qualifications required for these positions are:

. Willingness to commit to Habitat's mission
. Computer (esp. Mac), network and/or Internet experience
. Natural curiosity for new technology
. Willing to learn and self-train
. Courageous and diligent problem solving skills
. Programming or system analysis and design experience
. Good verbal and written communication skills
. Customer service experience

If you don't have much work experience in the I.S. field, but are willing
to learn, we will train on the job. Opportunities for experience with
HFHI's Information Systems include:

. LAN serving hundreds of Mac, PC, and VAX users
.Internet site with WWW and FTP server
. WAN service to 30 U.S. and 30 international offices
. Multi-warehouse inventory system
. Oracle, SQL, CPX, and FileMaker Pro programming
. Partner database tracking 2 million supporters and growing
. Client/Server and Object Oriented system development
