Hi everyone,

This may sound insane, but I am starting to think about putting
together a workshop for the National Convention on Advisors. As a
former active, I have fond memories of such helpful advisors to Kappa
Chapter like Dean of Students Lois Cox, who helped us cut red tape and
sent several dedicated brothers our way, Professor Robert Eisenstein
who attended our meetings, came and worked with his son selling
concessions and hosted barbecues at his house, and Michael Fryd,
hacker extraordinare who helped us put the student directory together
every year. As a APO staff member, I have had the pleasure of working
with some terrific advisors such as Major Harrington from Epsilon Mu,
Robert Schaeffer from Alpha Alpha Beta, John Russell, a founding
member of Zeta Mu who helped restart the chapter again and Karen
Visick from Alpha Kappa. My question to actives and staff is how can
I help you convince your advisors to come to the convention. I would
like to organize a panel of the best advisors APO has to offer and
contact them directly to put together a great program for you.
Instead of the regular drill, I'd like the advisors to tell you the
stories themselves: how did they come to Alpha Phi Omega? what keeps
them interested over the years? what are their favorite and least
favorite service projects? How can APO chapters define a realistic
yet interesting role for advisors?

If you have any suggestions for advisors who are definitely coming,
advisors whom I might be able to arm-twist into it or any particular
ideas for this panel, please let me know. The convention workshop
program will be offering the best workshops APO has to offer and I
invite you to help me make this one be one brothers won't forget.
