NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE

March 13-16, 1997
Since 1984, the Campus Outreach Opportunity League (COOL) has lead the
way in inspiring and training students in service. In these 12 years,
COOL has been the springboard for countless youth organizations and powerful
leaders in the service field, both on and off the college campuses.
This year's COOL National Conference on Community Service will make its way
to the urban campus of Cleveland State University in Cleveland Ohio. Please
mark your calendar now to join us for three and a half intense days of
asking tough
questions, challenging, envisioning and designing the future.
WHO IS COOL?
COOL is a national non-profit organization that promotes and supports
student involvement in community service and social change by helping
students and administrators strengthen campus-based community service
programs. Our mission is to strengthen our nation through community
service.
WHO COMES TO THE COOL CONFERENCE?
Students and administrators serving communities, addressing illiteracy,
homelessness, racism, hunger, health care, HIV/AIDS, urban violence, drug
abuse, domestic violence, and other pressing social problems. The conference
is a forum for students of differing political affiliations, cultural
and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, physical abilities, faiths,
and socio-economic classes to come together in the challenge of creating
and celebrating a new reality in our communities.
