ALPHA PHI OMEGA
CORPORATE ASSOCIATIONS
(THIS WAS REQUESTED RECENTLY ON APO-L).
This is an effort to present something for alumni and undergrads to enjoy and
hopefully entice them to purchase Life Memberships and/or Sustaining
Memberships. The money saved with these Corporate Associations is more than
the cost to buy LMs and SMs (provided people use several of them). We are
under no financial obligation to purchase anything from these corporations,
and the associations will not cost the fraternity anything.
NEW -------
Travel Discounters (major airlines)
The newest discount program is with Travel Discounters of Washington D.C.,
and is designed to save individuals between 5-40 percent on airplane travel
on all major airlines, except Delta and Southwest. The National Office will
receive a 10 percent rebate from our travel every month with this program.
Anyone -- including your parents or relatives -- may use it for any type
of air travel in the U.S. or abroad. The trip does not have to be
APO-related.
The way the program has been set up for us is:
1) Call Travel Discounters at 1-800-355-1065. There is a recording that
tells you to press the number "1'' for airline travel.
2) After you press 1, a travel operator will come on the phone and you must
tell her/him that you are with Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity
and your code is "APO.''
It is important to give the code, because we are supposed to receive an
additional discount because of who we are, and that coding also is how they
look up how much to rebate to the National Office each month.
The salesman with whom I spoke said we will want to make reservations
early for each trip, but that this is a way to save money on last-minutes
trips that normally cost hundreds more than flights planned in advance.
Dun & Bradstreet
D&B presents business seminars in 500 cities to approximately 250,000
people per year. These seminars include presentation/communication skills;
management; secretarial/administrative skills; organizing and prioritizing;
business writing; business skills; etc.
Cost per seminar for APO members is $49, down from the regular cost of
$129.99. To set up a seminar, call David Balovich (former APO) at
1-800-563-1812 or 1-817-497-7199, or fax him at 1-817-497-7200.
GalaxSea Cruises
This company offers us a five percent discount over the discounted rates
they nornally have on cruises to Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean, etc. They
also have revolving weekly specials. Call 1-800-298-BOAT.
Alamo Rent-a-Car
15 percent off of daily and weekly raets by using our group ID number:
426570, and rate code: BY. Reservations must be at least 24 hours in advance.
Three percent of total sales will be donated back to the National Office.
Hertz Rent-a-Car
To secure a 10 percent discount, use a discount card available from the
National Office or Regional Directors, or give our group ID number: 094098.
Jiffy Lube
Receive a 10 percent discount by using either our group discount ID of
06031360, or your APO membership card.
Kinko's Copies
Use you APO membership card to obtain a 10 percent discount at 95 percent
of the Kinko's in the U.S.A.
CPI/Fox Photo
Use the blue-and-white discount car available from the National Office or
from Regional Directors for 50 percent off of prints and $1 off of
processing; or 25 percent off of enlarging. It is hoped that this discount
program will encourage more people to take more photographs to send to the
National Office for the Torch & Trefoil.
Holiday Inn
National Sales Rep. Mike Davis has been assigned to us to do the legwork to
get the best-possible group rate for rooms at HIs for sectional, regional and
national conventions. Call Mike at 1-800-742-1622 or 1-713-789-7282 for his
assistance.
Six Flags
Use a VIP discount card available from the National Office or Regional
Directors for discounts to all eight of the Six Flags theme parks.
These are Six Flags Over Texas, AstroWorld, Fiesta Texas, Six Flags over
Georgia, Six Flags Over the Midwest, Six Flags-Great Adventure, Six
Flags-Magic Mountain and Six Flags-Great America.
Southwest Airlines
To secure a 10 percent discount, you have to have at least 50 tickets sold
to a specific destination. We will be given a group ID number to a specific
city and date (like Phoenix for the Dec., 1996, National Convention). The
National Office receives one free ticket for every 40 sold through this
program.
