Here is something that any person interested in volunteering might try.
I think it would be great if we could get an APO person in on this. Can
we say "National Exposure?"

COOL Members,
Here is an bit of news sure to be of interest to all of us in the youth
community service movement.

MTV's NEW SEASON OF "THE REAL WORLD"
SEARCHES FOR CAST MEMBERS WITH FOCUS ON THE COMMUNITY
Next year, seven strangers will meet in Boston for the most challenging
season of "The Real World" ever. Not only will this group live together in
a rent-free apartment; they will all spend time running an after-school
program for local kids. "This will be a real chance for the cast to become
involved in the community," says Executive Producer and co-Creator
Mary-Ellis Bunim, "The cast will spend time tutoring, playing sports,
teaching new skills and generally have an opportunity to help. This season
we're really focused on a socially-conscious and motivated cast." Executive
Producer and co-Creator Jon Murray adds, "We're looking for people who
might not have applied for past seasons because they had preconceived
notions of what it was about." Without a doubt, the next season of "The
Real World" will deliver a fresh take on MTV's most successful series.
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 25 interested in becoming a cast member
on "The Real World" in Boston should prepare a 10 minute videotape of
themselves, describing why he or she would be a good candidate for the
show. All tapes should be labeled with the applicant's name, age, address
and telephone number. Most importantly, the applicant should be sure he or
she is clearly seen and heard on the tape.
THE DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 1st.
If you are interested act fast and mail a tape to:
