APOers,
This past weekend was family weekend at NAU. We invited all of
our members families to an info meeting to let them know about APO. After
the meeting one of the parents approached me about starting a parents
association. I thought this would be a pretty cool thing and I had never
heard about one before. The jist of it would be to keep parents informed
(since many of them are the source of the money for dues for their kids)
and also to help us financially through a dues system.
We are a petitioning group and do not as yet have any alumni from
our chapter and only 2 that I've found in the area from other chapters.
This might be something to put in placed of an alumni association (until
we get some alumni) and help us with money and contacts in places we might
not have access to.
Are there any other chapters with parents associations and are
they a good thing? Also how should we go about starting it and keeping it
running and how much involvement should they have in our activities?
I'll thank everybody now for any response and ideas.
YILFS
