Deb,
I don't think anyone is trying to slight the female brothers. I'm an
Eagle and I have some very strong differences of belief with the BSA's
policy regarding the "3 Gs" (Girls, Gays & God).
I need to check my facts on this but I believe the U.S. is one of only
three countries which segragates Scouting. The World Scouting movement is
co-ed.
Perhaps A-Phi-O could do something to connect itself more with the World
Scouting movement. In the U.S. Both the Boy and Girl Scouts evolved from
what Lord Baden-Powell started in England. (Wasn't Lady Baden-Powell one
of the founders of the Girl Scouts?)
I also wouldn't be opposed to changing the Scouting Reps to the national
board to being one from the BSA and one from the GSUSA.
