Greetings Brothers,

I feel that forcing chapters that are currently all-male to go
co-ed is going back on a promise made 20 years ago and recently
reaffirmed. Going back on that promise is a breach of trust, not only
with those all-male chapters still in existence but with all chapters.
Breaking that promise sets a bad precedent, what happens the next time
Nationals wants to do something it stated it will never do? I really see
no reason to force the remaining all-male chapters that still exist to go
co-ed. Earlier this month we at Delta turned 69 years old, we have no
pressure from the University to admit women as brothers, nor do we get
any pressure from any other source....before this year. The only pressure
we have gotten is from the resolutions brought up for Nationals. This to
me sounds an awful lot like the big government/micromanagement syndrome
so common in this country of ours. To me, this resolution makes it look
like Nationals believes that individual chapters cannot think or act on
their own. This is also bad, when you begin to lose faith in yourself,
you weaken. I do not like to think of A Phi O weaking but, this
resolution makes it look that way.

In Leadership, Friendship, and Service, I am:
