I'm opposed to us doing anything to restrict membership. I do not feel it
is the chapter's business what my GPA is. If we were an academic honour
society then that would be different.
For the record I was on academic probation when I was chapter president.
At the end of the semesetr I was off academic probation. My semesters as
chapter president were quite possibly my most academically disciplined
semesters.
It is up to the individual to decide what they must do with their time,
academicly and organizationally. I don't have a problem with requiring
officers to hold a certain GPA, as I belive most universities have this
requirment. I do think the chapter should continually stress the
importance of academic priorities.
