As a delegate to the 1992 National Convention in Boston, one of the
amendments to the National By-Laws was (as originally propsed) to add
"physical disabilities" to the list of non-discrimination items already
included (for example, race, creed, religion, gender, etc.) after "open
to students regardless of...". After several friendly amendments and
IMHO a general agreement that no list would ever express all of the
possibilities, the National Convention agreed to change the wording to
"open to all students". This was ratified and currently is the wording
in the National By-Laws.

Hope this helps answer your question. I'm a newcomer to the list, so I'm
still playing catchup.
