This comes from another brother at our chapter who is not on APO-L, do
with it what you will, but I hope you will read and think about his
points.(especially since he is my big brother.)

I can give you my answer on 'why more Brothers from 'those'
particular chapters haven't spoken on the topic'. I realize that
thanks to people who don't look at the big picture, our Chapters are
becoming a lost breed. In 1976, "we" (All Male Chapters) looked at the
desires of a very few of the chapters out there who wanted to go co-ed
and "we" gave them the chance to chose for themselves who they would
admit. Now, after only 20 years, "you" (co-ed chapters) have decided
that "our" desire to remain all male and to make our own choice is not
worth the same respect we afforded "you". "We" are not asking for any
special treatment, but simply to be given the same respect and right to
chose that "we" gave "you. Why is this such a bad thing to ask for?
If "we" had simply said 'No!' in 1976, maybe then these problems
wouldn't be here, but "we" had respect for "you". Doesw this make it
any clearer to you, individualy, what we are so upset about? 'Do as I
say, not as I do' is fine for a Tele-Evangalist, but not for people who
are trying to set forth a Standard of Manhood to withstand the test of
time and to help nations of the world settle their differences in a
more peacable manner than war. "we" don't want anything we haven't
given to "you". Anyway, I drone on. The reason I haven't lashed out
to the lists is the fact that I trust my Brothers. I have no doubt
that they will expound upon the issues and cover the topics without
wasting so much bandwidth by having every Brother in my Chapter saying
'I agree' or 'Yea!' in an email message. Hopefully, this has helped
clear up a few things for you. If "you" can, with clear conscience,
deny "us" what we gave to "you" then I guess "we" made the wrong
decision in 1976.
Standard disclaimer: These are *my* opinions, nobody else gave these
to me nor do they represent anybody elses opinions.
