Brothers -

I have been watching the lively debate over the resolutions regarding
all-male chapters for a while now. I am one of the names listed on
the resolutions listed from Region III, and I just want to let you
know what was in MY mind when I "signed" my name to the proposals.

First - there NEVER was any intention to revoke chapter charters. The
last thing we want and need to do is to snuff out Leadership,
Friendship, and Service on ANY campus. In fact, wasnt' it Frank Reed
Horton who said that "even as Scouting is worldwide, so should Alpha
Phi Omega be worldwide.." I, as a female Brother, have nothing
against all-male chapters. I respect them, and love them as Brothers
the same as anyone else who pledged our Fraternity.

Second - my purpose in being a part of the people on the resolutions
was to get the undergraduates to realize that they have the ulimate
power in this Fraternity. YOU are the governing body of APO. Not us
alums, not us staff folks....YOU are. That is the beauty of of APO.
You who are voting delegates make decisions that will affect this
fraternity today, not 20 years ago. Times change. APO changes. For
those of you who doubt that, look in the history book and see the
changes APO has weathered.

Let me digress a moment.
I am also a Star Trek fan. In "Star Trek 2, when Spock is about to
die, he mind melds with McCoy....and tells him that his death is for
the better. If I remember correctly (and you die hards, please don't
crucify me!), Spock says, " The good of the many outweigh the good of
the few."

On that note, I remain
