Dear brothers,

I'm sure that many of you have been following the posts on APO-L about the various topics of legislation which will be considered next month at the National Convention in Phoenix.

I can tell you from personal experience as a past non-voting delegate, a voting delegate, and as a sectional chair (I've been to five national conventions already), that attending the convention is definitely a highlight in any APO brother's experience
and that no two conventions are ever alike in any way shape or form.

The reason for this post is a brotherly reminder to check if your chapter has taken care of all the arrangements necessary for your delegates to attend the convention in Phoenix. The deadlines are fast approaching to register for the convention and to
reserve a room without incurring a late fee.

The deadline to register for the convention and to take the tour of the Grand Canyon is DEC. 1. The deadline to reserve a hotel room is DEC. 8. After these dates, the late fees are charged.

While I'm on the subject of deadlines, one major deadline passed on Friday -- --Nov. 15. This is the day that all reporting documents and fees (the annual chapter roster, reaffirmation, AAMD and the HRB) should have been sent to the National Office.

Please make sure that this has been done. If your chapter is having some difficulty in getting these administrative items taken care of, please contact your sectional chair or the national office as they will be more than happy to assist you.

If your chapter does not file these items with the national office, your chapter delegates will not be seated or permitted to vote at the national convention. Again, please check with your chapter to make sure this has been taken care of as soon as
possible.

Before I get flamed, the HRB, while an optional item to send, really should be done as it can give your chapter an idea on how its program and operations are doing.

I hope to see all of you in Phoenix so I can put some faces to a lot of the names I've been seeing over the past few years on APO-L. I also hope that there's a great turnout from REGION V in Phoenix as well (yes, I know, what a shameless plug for Reg. V

Until next month, I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Take care.

In brotherhood,

Ed Richter
Zeta Delta Chapter adviser
Past Section 57 Chair (OHIO)
SRW Chair/Nat. LD Committee
Alpha Iota alumnus

PS Please send any and all responses to af901@dayton.wright.edu

I now return you to the legislative dialogue which has been in progress and will probably never end on this network.
