I had already formulated this response before I saw Brother Covi's response,
so I just thought that I would include the information as a supplement to
what Lisa already wrote.
In response to Brother Webster's question regarding the location of
events for the National Convention, there are two locations in which
convention
activities will be held. The Legislative Session and the Reference
Committees will meet at the Hyatt. Workshops will be at the Hyatt on the
27th and the 30th.
Additionally, in the hotel there will be social events, like the talent show
and several of the Regional
meetings. Included in the Hyatt is a room that was formerly an old disco,
read nice gathering location, that we will be using as a coffee room that
will be open at almost all hours.
We will be using the Phoenix Civic Plaza for workshops on 12/28 & 12/29,
for the banquets and one of the dances. The Civic Center is right
across the street from the Hyatt and is an excellent facility for these
kinds of
events. The Ballroom in the Phoenix Civic Center is very large and should be
able to hold the entire
convention delegation during banquets.
The Civic Plaza is an easy walk from the hotel, shorter than the distances
between the hotels in Dallas, and the weather is expected to be
comfortable.
I hope that this answers your questions as to the location of events. We
have tried to coordinate locations so that there will not be significant
amounts of walking back and forth between locations.
