Hi everyone - it's that most wonderful time of the year - Convention
time! I have a few answers, and will be getting back to you on
others:

>Q: Will someone post a schedule of convention events, including times?
>If they do by next week, a lot of us can begin planning other events well in
>advance.

The schedule is available on the convention web page. It has already
gone to the printers, but a few things may change at the last minute:
http://alumni.cse.ucsc.edu/~rodden/apo/convention/schedule.html

>Q: Did the hotel group all the APO rooms together? Will there be other guests
>in the hotel, and if so, will their rooms be segregated from our block?

As Curtis said, we've requested this but we're not counting on it. We
expect you to conduct yourselves courteously to the other guests in
the hotel, and if not, the Safety and Security committee will help
remind you.

>Question: Patrick Burke sent an email out early this week indicating that the
>hotel was full and overflowing, and that we will have a "Big" Conference.
>Approximately how many brothers are expected, and how big is the total APO
>room block in the convention hotel?

I'll have to get back to you on the block size, but we have planned
for at least 2000 people for banquets, dances and other events. Make
sure you register in advance, buy banquet tickets in advance if you
want to go, confirm your room reservation and you sign up as soon as
you register for for workshops and activities that close when full
(i.e., LDW, LEAP, Grand Canyon Trip). We will do our best to
accomodate your needs, and you can help us by coming to the convention
organized. If you haven't already read it, check out the excellent
Convention Handbook at

YILFS,
Lisa
