hey, this is Dan Baldwin out here in Reno nevada, just sending out a
cheery new years message to all of APO. Well, we went through our
petitioning ceremony, and right now the Executive committee is considering
moving the Chartering Ceremony to sometime in October. Principly because
a lot of the APO brass in Phoenix felt that it would be wise to let our
group come together, and I agree with them. But I wanted to run this past
all of you.
Since Phoenix mostly shuts down after 8 pm.. what would all of the
chapters on the West Coast say to coming to Reno sometime in the next few
months for a fellowship? My fellow Exec officers and I are batting around
this idea since it is very likely that I wont get to meet any of you since
I work all the time. So if any of you west coast chapters are up to a 48
hour party in Reno, let me know. We can start seeing if this fellowship
can become a reality.
Now to the fun stuff. As some of you may know, Upsilon Psi (or in reality
the members with some sort of background in Law and Poli Sci) have been
working on our By-laws. So far we have been following standard format for
the most part. But at one time we actually did make it possible for the
Sargeant at Arms (who happens to be a sworn Anarchist) to be able to
remake the chapter by-laws in his own image if he got a quorum, which he
would have been able to define by the way. Let this be a lesson to all of
you, never ever let a redneck, an anarchist musician, a socialist
secondary education major, and a normal college student write by-laws.
Well, we managed to avoid that
catastrophe, but we have some interesting new ideas about Chapter
structure that I would like to discuss with a certain ex National
President if he is reading this any time soon, or anyone else.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.. I tried to make this update as
humorous and as fun to read as I could. Have a fun day out there, and dont
worry, We took away the power of determining quorums from our Sargeant at
Arms :).
