Hello & Whazup, Brothers,
In personal news, I have decided to forgo pursuing a Bachelor's Degree and decided to just go directly for being a CPA. Thus, I will take two final accounting courses @ Cols. State, then take the GRE exam and the AICPA Level 2 exam before sitting for my CPA exam. Why? Two reasons. One, it is taking entirely TOO damn long to get a degree that once you become a certified professional is seen as rather meaningless in value; it is just a stepping stone (I have been an undergraduate for 5 1/2 years, IMHO is long enough for anybody).
And two, I really don't feel like taking out another student loan, and Capital is a little too expensive for me to finish at this time. I will take my final courses in April and will probably be finished by July. Wish me luck via private e-mail.
That being said, now for the questions.
First, to Alpha Iota Chapter: When and where will the Winter Dance be. I believe it will be Friday, February 28 from 7-10 (BTW, don't you think 10 pm is a little early to be ending a dance?; high school proms last longer than that. But I digress). I forgot where the place was to be; I know that it won't be @ the Faculty Club. Can anybody who knows e-mail me? Thanx.
Now my question for potential Sectionals (56/59) attendees.
I have noticed that @ the '94 Sectionals (then Section 57 @ OSU), some of the brothers visiting the Greek paraphernalia shops was a little disappointed because of the shortage of merchandise for our organization. Well, now that our chapter (Capital U) will be hosting Sectionals this year, I am trying to combat that problem. Because of our centralized location in the State of Ohio, we are expecting a bigger turnout of brothers (250 min, 500+ max). I contacted University Jewelers, a major supplier of fraternity gear and the owner told me that he can get some orders for certain types of 'nalia set up within a week from now (c. 2/1/97). BUT, I NEED YOUR HELP. Are you looking for certain types of 'nalia and or other items? Would you like for me to find out if the owner can set up a vendor booth of some sort on campus (and if the campus will let him)?
Basically, do you want to buy some 'nalia, and if so, what are you looking for and how do you want to purchase it? I need to know so that the owner doesn't spend a lot of money on orders that will wind up being unsold. You may e-mail me anytime this week (and maybe next week). Your responses will allow for more "support" that we are a strong organization contrary to many Greek shops' opinions.
C-ya @ Sectionals
Peace.
