Note before reading this it is definitely do able and Nationals could use
the money.

First things first. I talked about this at nationals with some people in
the know aka Dan emery.
I would say that a good deal of us using this list know as much as if not
way more than most of the people at nationals know about this subject.
They would need a computer somewhere on the network. They don't
have anything really powerful just the few desktops that they log into AOL
with and I know hard AOL makes it impossible to do stuff like that. So
somebody out there would have to lend apo a computer or partial use of a
computer to use as apo.org. (alumni in the computer industry/. tech
support)
I think there are limitations on .orgs charging money for services
although i am not sure as my last co-op had a .org domain name and they
charged the users for ppp access. It may be just that they can not use it
to make a profit. that was the case at my last co-op.
Nationals would need to higher someone full time to deal with the
server, bounced mail, network service providers....
Now maybe we could get some alumni/active members to donate use of
there equipment and other/the same people to administer this along with
educating the people at nationals.
First of all somebody would need to look into .org money charging
restrictions...
It definitely sound like a good idea and a possible suggestion i
had made. But then again the national staff would still need some education
about all of the services that they could be offering.

hope someone out there can help nationals do this it would probably
be in there best interest.
