To all, especially the listserv owners:
The following message was sent to all e-mail users at syracuse. As you can
tell you will get messages sent back to the computer which the message has
been sent from. In this case the listserv might be flooded with messages
from all syracuse accounts during this time stating the messages have not
been able to be sent. Unless the owners know how to avoid this i am giving
fair warning of possible happenings. If you do not understand read the
message below or e-mail me privately.

Message sent to all syracuse university e-mail accounts:
Mailbox Server Unavailable Sunday March 9th 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The mailbox.syr.edu server will be unavailable on Sunday, March 9th
from 8:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. The server hardware will be upgraded
from a SPARCstation-20 to a Sun Ultra-2 server during this time.
Clients who receive e-mail at an address that ends with the suffix
"@mailbox.syr.edu" and clients who have their e-mail forwarded from
mailbox.syr.edu to some other address will not receive e-mail
during this outage. All e-mail destined for mailbox.syr.edu addresses
will not be accepted during the outage. In most cases, this mail
will be held by the sending computer or an intermediate mail relay
until service to the mailbox server is restored.
Any outgoing e-mail from supported computers (e.g. SUnix timesharing
hosts) will be sent during the outage, since this mail is routed
through the server mailer.syr.edu. All other SUnix services will
continue normal operation during this time.
