Hello Everyone. My name is Ray Warriner and I am chapter
president of Alpha Delta Theta at the University of California Riverside.
I've always been APO at heart, and have been a member for almost three
years now. I have been reading along on APO-l, yet never introduced
myself. I am writing now to see if there is anyone out there to help our
chapter with a service project.
On May 9, our chapter will hold what we are calling "A NIGHT IN
VEGAS". The semi-formal event will benefit the Alternatives to Domestic
Violence and a UCR student who recently lost two of his limbs in an auto
accident. It is an evening of dancing, gambling, and fun for all
participants. Here are our set-backs and how one can help.
a) APO has no national inssurance policy, and we are required to
pay $225 to hold the event.
b) The cost of the gambling equipment is about $1700. or about a
$100 per table. We are asking businesses and individuals to sponsor
tables at $100 a piece. We have only a few (2-?) tables sponsored.
c) Tickets are $7 presale, $10 at the door, and $5 if purchased in
a group of ten or more. THe tickets double as raffle tickets for prizes.
d) we are in need of many more prizes.
If you can help us out in any way, that would be great. If the chapter,
alumni association, section staff etc would like to sponsor tables..it
would be much appreciated. At the least, one can buy a ticket. Please
help out. We're trying to get a general idea of where we stand by April
25.
