Been sitting on my hands with this iopic since it started . . . waiting
to see everyone elses responses, I guess.
As I remember it from when I pledged (my only 'active' semester with a
chapter), we didn't allow letters to be worn at an event with alcohol . .
. be it a private event, or just hanging out at a bar. In fact, I still
don't wear my pin or letter when I go out and know I'll be drinking.
Somehow in the back of my brain I guess I feel that doing so will somehow
"save" how people view APO . . . especially if I end up doing something
stupid under the influence.
I'm not saying that Brothers shouldn't drink . . . we are, after all,
human. It's just that IF we drink and have our letters where people not
affiliated with APO, it could end up tarnishing their view of the
Fraternity and what we REALLY stand for. I'm afraid that people will end
up seeing us as being just like a "normal frat" . . . rather than an
organization devoted to our Cardinal Principals.
Just my $.02 for what they're worth.
