On Monday, April 28, 1997, 22 students became the initial group of
Petitioning Members of Alpha Phi Omega at the University of Tennessee -
Knoxville. The ceremony was conducted at Reese Hall by brothers of Lambda
Alpha Chapter, East Tennessee State University, and the Section 68 Chair.
This was followed by dinner at O'Charleys restaurant.
Please join me in congratulating these students and wishing them much
success as they work towards rechartering Iota Alpha Chapter. They are an
extremely motivated group and have completed many of the requirements
beyond that required for becoming a Petitioning Group (only the slow pace
of UTK's student organization approval has kept this from happening sooner
-- it's a long story).
