For those who do not mind being in the Pittsburgh, PA
area a little before the National Board meeting, here
is an event help is need with. Note to Betas/Kappas,etc.:
we could really use help with this. Granted, the brothers
currently chairing the projects are alumni, but we'd appreciate
the help.

No, yesterday's post was not real specific. June 27, 1997
there will be a 5K race as part of the Wilkinsburg Community
Days festival. For specific questions about the rest of the festival, which
continues June 28 and 29, call the event organizers Bev Peacock at
(412-242-8519) or Dave Obitz at (412-371-4470). An estimated 200-350 runners
are expected to run.
To actually run in the race, which raises money for a worthy
local charity, call Jim Langer at (412-243-6933). He is both

raffle. The fee for running is $10. What brotherhood help is needed is much
outside of this, however.
Help is needed serving runners refreshments, and a wide variety of other things.

so I can arrange your housing, as well as a post-race
party. (I volunteer to organize one, Jim. God help
us all.) Wilkinsburg is five miles outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
It has a local rep as a tough neighborhood, and this is
a grass roots effort to make people proud to live here.
