well, you can use any IRC server connected to the EFnet network, and the
channel is #aposoc or sometimes #apo (but usually #aposoc)

some EFnet servers include

irc.cs.rpi.edu
irc2.blackened.com
irc.bridge.net
irc.frontiernet.net
ircd.txdirect.net

to name a few
