A few additional notes adding to Brother Yusef's and Brother Vehlow's =
responses:
I was just wondering where I should connect to so I could paticipate in =
the chat. If I'm correct, I need to connect to a certain location and =
then find the group. Is that right???
well, you can use any IRC server connected to the EFnet network, and the =
channel is #aposoc or sometimes #apo (but usually #aposoc)
To connect to an IRC server, one needs to use a good IRC client program, =
that is, a program that you download to your computer that you use to =
connect to the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) Network. I would recommend =
getting the most recent version of mIRC, if you are using Windows 95 or =
Windows 3.11 (sorry, I don't know any Mac IRC clients. If you are =
connecting from a university unix account, contact your local system =
administrator on getting connected. Once you have the program, you need =
to connect to an IRC server. I would recommend irc.concentric.net, =
although Yusef has already listed a few here:
some EFnet servers include
irc.cs.rpi.edu
irc2.blackened.com
irc.bridge.net
irc.frontiernet.net
ircd.txdirect.net
to name a few
Seems to be busiest between 8p and 1a daily, eastern time, but I haven't =
been on in a week-and-a-half due to my schedule.
But hopefully soon, and I personally am most likely to log in between 5 =
and 6pm weekdays if I do.
