I have a friend and fellow brother who has a terminally ill mother, three
younger brothers and no finances. Yet she has pursued every loan and
scholarship available to her with an almost unnatural fervor. She has to
divide herself between three brothers under the age of 12 and a sick,
irritable mother who does not make things any easier on her. But I have
never heard her talk about giving up. Somehow she keeps up her grades and
finds the will to keep going(it has to be sheer will, I can't think of
anything else to call it)and she continues to do it all without asking
strangers to send her money.
