Newsflash
Wekiva Water Lettuce Cleanup

What:
Water Lettuce Project 8-11
Swimming 11-12
Food 12-1
Hanging out 1-whenever
We cannot start later because it's prime season for renting out the
canoes. We can drop the project and pay for the canoes if 8 is too early.
Where:
Wekiva State Park (no pavilions are available) --
tell the park ranger at the gate you are with APO for the Water Lettuce
Project, and they will tell you how to find us.....
What you need to do:
Bring $5 for food....
Notify Karen (see below) that you will be participating by Aug. 6th (VERY
IMPORTANT!)....
Notify Karen if you have special food needs (whether you plan to bring
your own food or not)....
Notify Karen if you need a place to stay on either Friday or Saturday night
(she has room for five to ten at her place)....
Plan to have lots of fun!!
How to get there:
From South East Florida: (Hint: you can save money by taking I-95 to exit 65,
get off the interstate and turn left. The turnpike is less than 2 miles from
I-95 at that point. There's lot's of food stops and gas stations there as
well as a small outlet mall (shopping!). Take the Florida turnpike North
to I-4, go East on I-4 to 436. Go West on 436 (left turn).
.....Turn right onto 436. You will come to an intersection with an
Albertson's on the left and a Goodings on the right (Wekiva Springs Road?),
turn left. Follow the road as it curves (you will go through Sabal Point and
some other communities and past a 7-11 on the right). Look for the park on
your right.....
From Daytona:
Take I-4 West to 436, turn right onto 436 (go West). Then follow directions
as above.
From Gainesville:
Take I-75 to the Florida Turnpike (South). Get on the East-West Expressway
(408) in Orlando (going East). Take 408 to I-4. Go East on I-4 to 436.
Turn left onto 436 (go west) then follow directions as above.
