You are cordially invited to join in the fun at this year's Section 48
Summer Picnic! The picnic will take place on Saturday, July 26 at
Wildlife Prairie Park (near Peoria, IL).
The day's activities include:
* 9:30ish -- arrival at the Park
* From 10 a.m. to noon -- service project(s) around the Park
* From noon to 1:00 p.m. -- lunch (sandwiches and other finger foods)
* From 1:15 p.m. to ? -- brief business meeting
* Following business meeting -- lots of fellowship (hikes around the
Park, organized activities, and so on)
The cost for this fun-filled day? Absolutely nothing! That's right, this
is a *free* event! If you're interested in attending, please RSVP to
this address (sec48picnic@hotmail.com) by July 24 and let us know who
you are, what chapter you're from, and how many folks you're bringing
with you.
Be sure to dress appropriately! Projects around the park usually include
transporting materials (logs, branches, wood chips, hay bales), planting
flowers and/or trees, or other physical activities, so bring work
clothes and, if possible, gloves. Tools are provided by the Park.
Wildlife Prairie Park is located a short distance from Exit 82 (also
known as the Kickapoo exit) of I-74 in central Illinois. After taking
this exit, follow the signs to the Park. When you get to the gate, let
the ranger-person know that you're with Alpha Phi Omega and your
admission fee will be waived.
