Everytime I check my e-mail or surf the web, it seems that someone else
somewhere else is doing something fantastic with a computer for APhiO.
That's inspiring--and it brings up some questions, too.
For my part, I'm finishing up some touches on a CGI written in perl to
handle scheduling management and calendars. I got the inspiration from
Stephen and Norton from Berkeley's webpage but it's expanded to a software
package... Check it out...

I purposely removed the "Submit" button because, well, I don't want
people adding and deleting events from the server while I'm gone from the
office on the weekend. But, believe me, it works (or at least it will
completely work by next week--if you try it and it doesn't work, then
I'm probably took it offline to improve it).
I posted this because:
A. I'd like to share my work with other APhiO brothers.
B. I'm fishing for compliments to gather the strength to continue.
C. I'm wondering if anyone else is hell-bent on developing software
solutions to common chapter problems (scheduling, requirement-tracking,
membership rosters, pledge rosters, etc.)
D. I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time and another brother, more gifted
than I, has already tread this path and the software repository is "The
Big APhiO Secret"
So if your webserver is 'blessed' with perl 5.003 or later, e-mail me
and I'll release the code. Bear in mind that the images are tailored
expressly for the Iota Phi chapter's Web Page. Also, FYI, I learned to
program in perl with this CGI--please be tolerant of my sloppy programming
ways.
