REGION 3 CONFERENCE

The 1997 Region III Conference is just a month away! The Iota Lambda
chapter at North Carolina State University will host the conference on
October 24th-26th at the Brownestone Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina. The
weekend has been planned to keep you busy and having fun.
If you get there Friday afternoon, there will be trips to the North
Carolina State Fair, a great way to get a heapin' helpin' of North Carolina
culture for only $6. Or, you can help with a Haunted House for the Boys
Club (starts at 5:30, be sure to bring a scary costume!) We'll cap the
evening with a group massage workshop at 11pm.
On Saturday we'll have many wonderful workshops presented by brothers from
across the country. The sessions include Brotherhood 402 (the sequel to
Brotherhood 401), Swing Dance, and Chapter Politics: The Art of War. These
and other workshops and activities will keep the weekend interesting and
filled with fellowship.
Service projects include a park clean up and Adopt-A-Highway, weather
permitting, so come prepared to get dirty! Saturday night there will be a
banquet followed by a dance. The theme will be "Under the Sea," so put
your thinking (swimming?) caps on and get ready to get down!
On Sunday morning, join the celebration as the Interest Group at North
Carolina Wesleyan College has their Petitioning Group Ceremony (they've
been working hard and hope to have all the requirements completed by then).

Call the Brownestone Hotel to reserve your room today! Mention the APO
Conference and get the special rate of $68 plus tax for up to 4 people in a
room. After September 26, the hotel will fill up quickly since the rooms
set aside for us will be available to the public (the Fair is popular!)
Call 800-331-7919 inside NC and 800-237-0772 from outside NC.
Conference registrations need to be received in Raleigh by September 26 to
avoid a late fee. Registration is $29 and forms are available from your
chapter or from the conference web page.
