Hello Brothers!

This is a brief note to let you know what my thoughts are on the
APO Chat/Server which has been brought up.

Basically, I am from Kansas City, Missouri, and have been working
with my dad to maintain a server in the area for over two years now. We
are not an ISP, but do have a full-time, 99% uptime server. Over this time
period, I have written things such as web-server, integrated web-chat
(without the use of java, applets, or any other funky stuff, just plain
HTML, so is accessible from ANYWHERE, anytime, even using good ol' Lynx
(c).)

I had proposed the idea of placing a full-capability service to
APO up on the server. This would include:

- National Board/ Regional Directors/ Office Staff accounts.
- E-mail/Web/Chat capability for all chapters/ sections/ regions.
- Registered IP for the apo.org domain to be linked to.
- Possible space for individual brothers wishing e-mail accounts/
web-space/ chat capability. (This would probably require some kind of
minimal fee, so as to allow for server-space and such.)

Aside from those things, much more is available, if we want it,
and if we are willing to get APO linked on the InterNet, and capable of
better, stable interent access.

Okay, to jump to the question as to this bveing something we might
want to look into, please respond either to me (richc@sound.net) or to the
list (if there are questions/comments/conecerns for others to respond to).
I would like to see this at least looked into as a strong possibility for
allowing Alpha Phi Omega to grow in the virtual realm, and allow brothers
from around the country (possibly world) to be able to communicate on a
more stable basis.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

p.s. - I am attempting to get in contact with proper people to find out
the procedure for doing this as well, but it sounds like as soon as we
want to get started, it won't be much of a problem!
