I am writing this on behalf of a freind from another chapter.
Every brother at this chapter has to pay $20 for the year. It
has been $20 for about three years. We are not raising the dues at
all. We are just wondering what other chapters do about dues and what
have they done since the increase with the AAMD. There has been
numerous discussions from the brothers in the chapter, I am asking
for, about why dues are paid. It has gotten to a point where they
feel they do not have to pay. But as I know and as my friend knows
all the chapter keeps from the dues is a few dollars.
To add on the chapter in question also receives an allocation
from its student government which can be in upwards of $2000. Most of
this money and the money we budgeted from dues is added together for
our operating budget.
What can my friend do to speak to the chapter about the situation
and help make them understand the importance of dues. Secondly I
would like to hear what other chapters do about dues.
Please help.
