Well, national dues keep the national fraternity and all its services
running. The T&T, regular correspondence, any promotional materials you
order - that costs a lot to mail. (And somebody has to mail it.) I think
dues also pay the salaries of Pat Burke and the secretary at the
national office, but I'm not sure.
Anything the chapter charges above national dues is for chapter
operations. Projects and socials. Presumably the members are getting
something out of this. :) But if the membership has complaints, it's
definitely something that should be discussed.
