Hello, there, APO world! It's time once again for one of Alpha Gamma's
greatest traditions, Overnighter, on November 1st to 2nd. Our chapter of
around 150 actives and around 65 pledges prepares a Girl Scout camp for winter,
does projects that can only be done with that many people there, bonds with the
awesome Cunningham (in memory of Crystal Howard) pledge class, conduts a PRS,
and holds a Scout's Own ceremony in honor of our departing Seniors. We can
make room for more! I know that is the same weekend as Region IV regionals, so
I won't be able to go to that again this year, but if you around Indiana, or
even if you aren't, we will be more than happy if you were to come. From past
experiences bringing members of smaller chapters, it is good for you to see
the traditions that can be developed and maintained in a large chapter.
I think it costs a couple of bucks for Saturday lunch. If you are interested
in coming and would like more info or directions, please let me know by
e-mail at barton@ecn.purdue.edu. If you want to come down on Friday night
(Halloween), i'm sure we could scare up housing and social activities.
The next weekend we're doing a project at a YMCA camp southwest of Indy, which
would be a good project for a certain larger-than-us chapter in Ohio, hint,
hint, Erin, to join us in. We've also got the Aids quilt coming for its only
Indiana appearance this year, and I know that the organizers need all the help
they can get.
