But y'all are forgetting a really small corner of northwestern IN (it
stretches about 45 miles east of the IN/IL border, then makes a mini-IN
state map) that does do the time change and is on central time. I should
know this, since I spent 15 years growing up there, and my parents still
live there. My guess is the proximity to Chicago (which is on Central time)
and the people from IN who commute to work there. My only problem was being
right between Chicago and South Bend and trying to remember whether we were
on the same time as South Bend or an hour behind (it makes a difference
when you're going to concerts at Notre Dame :) ).
