Hello brothers,
My chapter (Nu Kappa, Campbell University) has been small for the
past 3 years, no more than 7 brothers since I was initiated in fall '95.
We have never really had a situation like I am about to describe.
This semester, we initiated 23 new brothers, the most in a long time.
Last year's Thomas H. Kean class was 15, but they all went inactive.
There is a huge difference between THK and FWTC class dynamics. THK was
very laid back. This semester's pledges were very enthusiastic,
motivated and a lot of fun.
During their pledging period, a bunch of them and two actives (me and
the treasurer) went out to a club and to a pledge's house. Basically
everyone was drinking, except me and the treasurer.
Was this wrong, even though the pledges planned this and this was not
an "APO event"? Before these pledges came along, we never drank around
each other, so we have nothing to reflect upon.
With much sincerity,
thank you,
Autumn Childs
president, Nu Kappa chapter
