I only dispute one point in your post. They should oppose it because they
believe that that is the best way to serve the IDEALS of Alpha Phi Omega.
On campuses where there already exists a service sorority (e.g., Gamma Sigma
Sigma), the competition may benefit Alpha Phi Omega (by increasing the
membership pool), but it wouldn't necessarily be the best way to serve APO's
ideals. Healthy competition is great, but more often than not, competition
between or among organizations finds a way to become unhealthy. No one is
immune to that, not even APO.
